Granite State Swimming Assoc. Meet

Saco Valley Swim Team Competes for the
7th Year on August 1-3

Coach Maury tells us, "It is State Meet time. This is our 7th year of participation in the Granite State Swim Association's State Meet. This meet is the culmination of a full year of training. It will be a good way for us to share with family, friends and the community what we can acheive with the facility we currently have. One good way of making a case for a bigger and better facility is to have lots of fun and perform well in this meet. Besides making swimming fun for our kids and having them develop their stroke and team building skills, it is the event which we focus our practices and swim meets on every year."

The meet is held at the Raco-Theodore Pool, which is located on Head Street, off of Varney Street on the west side of Manchester.

About White Mountain Aquatic Foundation

In a strategic effort to pursue its mission, the Board of Directors of the White Mountain Aquatic Foundation signed a lease with the New England Inn for use of their free-standing indoor pool in June of 2011. By providing a facility and programs, we hope to promote awareness and support for our mission. There are not many pools in the Mt. Washington Valley open to the public. Even fewer offer a solid lineup of year round programs led by experienced and certified instructors. We are now invested in community aquatics and hope to distinguish our pool as a fun place to Get Safe, Get Fit and Get Well.

Things have been consistently busy at the pool since we opened. Our youth programs are running at capacity with waiting lists not uncommon for most classes. The Saco Valley Swim Team continues to develop with more than sixty swimmers currently participating. Water Aerobics, Aqua Zumba, Water Movement for Seniors and the Masters Workout Group are filled most days. By operating a facility and running programs we can help make our community a safer, healthier and happier place to live and visit. Getting to know our swimmers is also a lot of fun.

About the Foundation: The White Mountain Aquatic Foundation is a non-profit corporation devoted to establishing a three pool, multiple use aquatic center in the Mt. Washington Valley. This facility is the missing piece in our community that will provide aquatic education, recreation, safety, competition, fitness and rehabilitation services. We believe this facility will enhance the health and quality of life, and strengthen the ties of community for our residents and visitors.

About the Center: The White Mountain Aquatic Center is solely responsible for all aquatic programs and activities.
